Alysis Davis is a performer, dance educator, and emerging choreographer based in Toronto, ON and Moncton, NB. Introduced to dance at the young age of 3, she later graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Performance Dance and double minors in Entrepreneurship and Psychology. In Canada’s premier dance program, Alysis received training from esteemed educators including Vicki St. Denys, Arsenio Andrade, Raoul Wilke, Kenny Pearl, Tanya Evidente, Louis Laberge-Cote, Lua Shayenne, Kate Hilliard, and more. Her training and qualifications extend beyond Toronto Metropolitan University including ADAPT and ProArteDanza’s Apprentice Summer Intensive. Since attending TMU, she has also had the pleasure of performing in works across Ontario by notable artists such as Natasha Powell, Angela Blumberg, Andrea Nann, Bobbi Jene Smith & Or Schraiber, Robert Glumbeck, Roberto Campanella, Tara Pillon, Alysa Pires, Rock Bottom Movement, and others.Â
Alysis has crafted numerous original pieces in various genres for both film and stage presented by TMU, Collections, DancEast, and Oakville Academy for the Arts. During her studies, Alysis received the New Brunswick Arts Board Full-Time Arts Scholarship based on her choreographic and performance portfolio. Her choreographic process encapsulates relatable experiences, ranging from simple topics like people watching to intricate themes such as the psychology of love and battles against mental health. The way they say that a picture is worth a thousand words, dance is worth a million. Alysis remains passionate about dance in every position she steps into and is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of dancers.
